Text Coding

Quick write:
I believe that intelligence can not be measured by a test, one reason is because there are different type of intelligence to be categorized. By giving a test to see how intelligent person is, its only using their memory as a tool. Some people can memorize thing very well while others learn the concept. Those both can be measured as intelligent on a test because it they will end up with the same answer. However the difference is that while the people that memorize get the answer they won't have the answer to why or how did it get there.

Reflection:
Memorization is the lowest form of knowledge because memory can fail and your left with being confused.

Staking our Claims

Quick Write: My personal opinion on mindset is that unless your mentally retarded, anyone can have a growth mindset. Your not limited to certain knowledge or customs that you have previously been exposed to. I believe that it's one's own pride and selfishness that can hinder you from taking advantage from life and what it has to offer.

Important claim is that achievement is hard work, Mozart took 10 year for his work to be appreciate and admire his work today.

Fixed or growth mindset?

At this point in my life I have a growth mindset, however because I have a such a strong personalty I am still in a limbo with a fixed mindset. Reason in certain i still have a fixed mindset is because of pride. I have so much pride that its a set back sometimes that it doesn't allow me certain things to do and accept. As much as I can love someone I won't accept disrespect even after an apology. People sometime forget disrespect, there is no expiration on disrespect and it's something I won't forget. I hold grudges that only become apparent when I see a person.

In the video I am most similar to Kenneth and Arielle they push themselves as do I.

Reflection: One way a teacher can be supportive is by connecting with the student. Tell them about your young days and things they may have struggled  with and how they overcame it. One way a teacher show they don't care for a student is by not acknowledging them whether that's giving them props or not caring to indulge yourself in a student.

Mindset

If I could change one characteristics about myself as a student I would change be being detached. I am so distant with both students and teachers. That is a good and bad thing, good because I wont have side conversation in class and always quiet. Bad because I don't like interacting with students much less teachers, that goes hand in hand with me being hardheaded. I am so stubborn mostly because I was the last child and first girl of my family, so everyone spoiled me. Now that I'm older I'm not as spoiled and stubborn as I use to be but it is apparent that I play drums to my own beat. No one will speed up my process, not saying I purposely defy teachers its just if I don't see the logic and their are loop-holes then there is no need for it to be mentioned to me. I however do change my mind when i see called for it and what makes much more sense then what I am accustomed to but those two I would change if that was never my personality, I would. Changing those two things I would be like the perfect student :).

Do you think babies are born with a growth or a fixed mindset? Explain.

Babies are born with growth mindset, if they didn't they wouldn't learn further to understand anything else. Babies are curious they wonder what direction a sound comes from. They wonder if they cry would your face appear. That's the beauty of a growth mindset coursity is ones best friend, they can get you in trouble but u will always learn from the lesson. One example is being a kid mommy ell you don't touch the iron because its hot, Your curious to see what is hot and bad is it, now u don't learn until you get a burn and cry your eyes out. Now you know hot things are not meant to be touch but what about crayons getting off the paper and end up as art on our wall. All these things is the purity of being a baby or kid your still able to learn.

Define Grit

When I think about a time I failed, I think about one of my classes. I worked really hard that semester to find out my teacher gave me 60, I went crazy. I went straight to her class and demanded she fix it or there will be problems. When it comes to grades and what I work for, I don't like surprises. So if I know I worked for a certain grade, I expect it.

Do you have grit? Why or why not? How did you get it or how did you lose it? What steps do you need to take to develop it? How can school and more specifically this class help you develop your grit. Are you even interested in developing it?

Grit is passion and perseverance for long term goals. Its having stamina and sticking with one's future. With that being said I believe I have grit.I have enough drive to always push forward. Gaining grit is all will power, its only there if u want it to be there. There are many reason on how people develop grit by constant failure and wanting more out of life. Some are taught there is no other way to be, there is no choice but to keep going and keep striving for the best. There are also people unbeknowest to them that certain situation calls for you to toughen up, because people rely on you to be the best you can be.

Then there are people that are broken, they may have fallen off emotionally that they don't want to strive for more/ Usually its a broken spirit within that can't push you to get back up. Example if your support system such as family suddenly becomes non-supportive, study shows that you can fall off the wagon- if you depend on them enough for them to make that kind effect on you. That goes back to the will power, are you strong enough to be your on support system? Can you motivate yourself? Grit is the strength of your character and that can be built up or broken. School helps the people who have a growth mindset. Students that always wan o do better and improve are much grit-ter. They want to know more, learn more. Excel in what they have become good at, and even things they don't understand but want to get it. That's why gritter people go further in life.

Train your brain

Quick write :

"You can train your brain just as you can increase your physical power with exercise."

I strongly agree with this statement. The intuitive sense is that the brain is like a muscle, and if you use it and exercise it, it will get stronger, and if you don’t, it will get weaker. Its been tested that mice raised in cages with more toys will have more brain cells, and children raised in richer environments will do better on cognitive tests. How can one simply train their brain? is there any specific way to make your brain stronger? While training your brain is a purley mental? or is there physical trainning as well?
