"It is impossible to change history. You can not change the past" The past means time before what is called present. So therefore we can only only affect our past by living present. History is set in stone and all we can do is learn from it, wheither its your own or someone else's. We can use history as a way of avoiding the same problems or doing things differently for a different outcome.
Well, if you have read 1984, you know this is not entirely true--at least in the novel. Still, you make an excellent case for studying history. The other half of this assignment was to research one of four topics to present to the class. (See the previous day's post.)
