Quick Write: 1984 is a Utopian society and the government controls the people. They have been broken down and convinced that whatever the government says is true
Reflection: I think that the apple commercial was very scary. Apple wanted people to believe that the book 1984 and the reality of 1984 will be similar because of the technology that apple had promoted during the super bowl. The people was anticipating the outcome of how the Macintosh would affect society as the book 1984.
1984 is NOT utopian unless you enjoy that kind of government control. It's dystopian.
ReplyDeleteDo you think people would want to buy a computer that would promote that kind of (fictional) society? I think Apple was saying that its computer would be a breakthrough into free thinking!
